Recently, it seems that every swish party or corporate event i go to has had furniture provided by a furniture hire company. Whats more, this week we have agreed to supply several items, both large and small to corporate furniture hire companies. It seems that all of a sudden, everybody wants to hire a chesterfield for their party or gathering.

What has surprised me though, is that our usual best sellers, the antique greens and antique reds, are not being touched. Yet the Black, White, and Pastille red and blue chesterfields are being snapped up as quickly as we can make them!

So has there been a sudden influx of people wanting to hire chesterfield sofas? or has this market or leather chesterfields for hire just become apparent to us?

Either way, i think it a positive thing for the industry- and as for the white ones… great. This lets people see that a leather chesterfield does not havew to be a traditional, drap item, but a chic, modern piece of furniture. And the best bit? after a week of hiring your chesterfield sofa, you get to send it back, so you dont even have to clean it!!

Lets throw this one open to the floor. What is/are your favourite chesterfield sofa or sofas of all time?I have a few on the short list- The Cumberland, The Rutland, and The Kendal. All of these chesterfields are different in many ways, and have different selling points for me.

The Cumberland sofa is straight, square, and very victorian looking. And when covered in a high end leather, looks so classy.

The Rutland Chesterfield has a different feel. Sure, the seat is still buttoned, and the facings are still studded, but the slinky, curved arms give a more art deco type of feel.

Then We get to the Kendal. A complete curve ball for me as i usuallygo for the buttoned base models, but this chesterfield sofa is for a different setting. Picture the scene- a light, airy farmhouse with a huge galleried livingroom, oak furniture, and a couple of these sofas. Perfect.

Distinctive Chesterfields Ltd. has a long spanning history of experience within the leather chesterfields market, and this experience tends to show in small ways. For example, we have recently been commissioned by one of the most renowned art dealers in the country, to produce a small collection of pieces of leather chesterfield furniture, unique to them, to resell. We chose a base design, decided on the leather to be used, settled on an extended beech frame which is triple dowelled for strength and rigidity, and have had special brass castors custom made as a one off. These leather chesterfields are going to be something special, and the ability to guide the customer and merge their initial requirements with our many years of experience is what we believe, seperates us from the competition.
